Purrs Abound is a foster-based, non-profit Rescue made up of men and women and their families from all walks of life.  We are bound together by our love for cats in general and Siamese in particular.  Some of us have shared our homes with Siamese for many years while others are new to the Siamese breed but anxious to learn more about them and help save a life in the process.  

We are devoted to rescuing as many Siamese and Siamese mix cats from Michigan and NW Ohio shelters as we are able.  Cats that are fostering in Ohio have an OH beside their names all others are in Michigan. Their location is noted under their name.  All of these cats face uncertain futures if left at the shelter and look to us and our foster families to provide a secure future.  We hope that one day we will be able to help Siamese and Siamese mix from other states.  However, before we can spread our wings, we need to grow our foster family.  If you think you might be interested in fostering, please refer to the section "Fostering" and contact us for more information.

At the moment, our foster space is extremely limited so we try to focus on those cats who are in shelters.  However, if you are an owner who needs to surrender their cat, please refer to the section "Surrendering Your Siamese" for information on how we may be able to assist you.

Purrs Abound and our fosters also provide retirement homes for several cats who have come to us over the years.  These are kitties who have a physical or emotional issue that made them difficult to place.  After a period of time, we have determined that asking these cats to make an adjustment into a new adopter's home would be detrimental to them.  After all, in their minds', their foster home IS their forever home.  They know no difference.  We feel a strong commitment to these "purr guests" and hope that you will review our Sponsorship Information and consider helping us to provide them with the care they deserve.
