Our Directors

Retta Holefca, Founder and Executive Director

Retta is a long time Siamese lover and has been owned by Siamese since Sassy joined her life in 1977.  Since that time, several other Siamese have graced her home and in 2000, she began volunteering for the Virginia Siamese Rescue processing adoption applications.  At that time, Retta realized the huge need for Siamese rescue and the fact that Michigan was just too far for the Virginia Siamese Rescue to really help the Michigan cats in need.  Thus, Purrs Abound Siamese Rescue was born, fashioned after the good works of the Virginia Siamese Rescue.  Purrs Abound was incorporated in the State of Michigan in March 2001 and has received our Letter of Determination from the Internal Revenue Service confirming our charitable status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code.

Retta is a pension administrator by profession and Siamese rescuer by passion.  She shares her home with her husband, and her own resident Siamese and domestic kitties along with three Irish Setters and two dachshund puppies.

Retta handles all administrative functions for Purrs Abound Siamese Rescue.

Beverly Ball, MHA,  Director Intake and Placement
